Appearance: Pale yellow-tan to biscuit colored heartwood and white sapwood.

Characteristics: Straight grained with medium to coarse texture. Takes stain and finishes well. Available in rift, quartered, and flat cut sorts. Quartered (flaky) stock exhibits prominent medulary ray figure.
